Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller Installation - 2023 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller on a 2023 Toyota 4Runner. Now this is what the REDARC looks like when it's installed and compared to a lot of your traditional brake controllers that you see mounted up on a dash that you inevitably hit your knees on, the REDARC really does a fantastic job of making it look like an OEM brake controller. As you can see, even with this factory knockout plate the button matches all of the controls here. It's hidden out of the way, but it's still super accessible and equally as usable as any other brake controller. Just like any other brake controller you can pick between two modes. You can have it to where it's user controlled or you can have it proportional to the braking pretty easy. more

So when it comes to these 4runners, awesome vehicles, you know, they're super capable SUVs. And people use them to do a lot of different things which does include pulling some, some relatively large trailers around, you know, whether it's a camper you know, utility trailer, something like that. And if those trailers have brakes, you're gonna need a way to apply the trailer brakes that way, you know you're not just relying on your 4runner to do all the stopping, you know, it'll help bring you to a, a more complete and predictable safe stop. Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Curt Echo Under-Dash Trailer Brake Controller here on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. So the trailer profile screen, it's a nice way to save the settings for different trailers. So if you only have one trailer, this feature might not be as useful for you as some of the others with multiple trailers. But basically how this works is we're gonna select the profile 1 through 5 and then we're gonna adjust the settings for that particular trailer. So we've got a little travel trailer hooked up now. I'd go ahead and select profile 1, then adjust the settings for this specific trailer. more

Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2012 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we're gonna be taking a look at the Curt Echo. This is a proportional wireless trailer brake controller. Part number is C51180.Now the Echo is a proportional brake controller, and proportional brake controllers are much safer than the old-time delayed systems. Essentially, this applies the brakes, just like what we're doing in our car. So if we slam on the brakes in an emergency, we get that kind of effect on our trailer. If it's just slowing down in traffic, well that's the effect we're gonna have.Now just to indicate to you kinda how it works, we're gonna use the manual override since we're not heading down the road. more

Speaker 1: Today on a 2017 Toyota 4Runner, we're gonna be installing Tekonsha's Prodigy P3 trailer brake controller, part number 90195, and in conjunction with that we'll be using Tekonsha's custom wiring adapter for trailer brake controllers, part number 3041-P.This brake controller is gonna be a great way to control whatever's hauling behind you from pushing your vehicle. It's gonna make it feel safer going down the road. It's gonna make it easier on you to drive. It's gonna cause less fatigue. And it's gonna keep everything that's back in your trailer from jarring around as much when you're stopping.Compared to other brake controllers offered by Tekonsha, this is gonna be the most premium model. It's gonna have the most intricate LCD display with the most features as far as boost, its proportional settings as well as memory settings for different trailers.Located at the bottom of your brake controller, you'll have a manual slider that'll allow you to apply your brakes in an emergency situation or if you just want to hold your brakes.You can adjust the output setting using the up and down arrows here.You have a boost option. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2013 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Today, on the 2014 Toyota 4Runner, we're going to review and install a Tekonsha 3P Brake Controller, part number 90195. To help us with our install, we're also going to use a Tekonsha Plug and Wiring Adapter for electric brake controllers for Toyota and Lexus, part number 3040-P. All right, this is what the P3 Brake Controller looks like once it's installed on our 4Runner. We have it hooked up to trailer. We'll go ahead and check out some of the features. First off, we have a nice screen right here that tells us what's going on with the trailer and the brake controller. We have a manual override on the bottom here that controls just the brakes on the trailer themselves. more
